I just want to point out, the PS3 eye is a horrible camera. Resolution is 640x480 at best and video is extremely grainy, from experience using the CL driver. Better off going and getting an actual webcam like the C920
I wanted to use a PS Eye with my PC for video chat and streams as my camera - when my gf isn't playing on PS3 using PS Move I wanted that camera to be my webcam. I tried looking for drivers but all I found so far is a drama about Eye's drivers working/not working but no one put an actual link to the damn drivers. Can anyone help me with this one?
MS's OSes are not designed to work with Sony's consoles. There are drivers for things like the PSP and PS Vita to transfer data, but seeing as that's something not designed to work with MS's OS, I highly doubt there's a compatible driver. I mean it could work, but for it to work you'd need to develop a driver to tell it to work with the system. Unless you make a successful driver then it probably will not work. It's like trying to get 3rd party USB ps ds controllers to work. There's pseudo drivers for it, but being pseudo drivers they don't really work.
Thx for quick responses... The most problems with drivers people had was the microphone. I have a mic used for podcasts and stuff so that won't be a problem, all I want is a video. I would give that CL driver a shot if it was for free...
I'd just go and get an actual webcam, Sony's parts tend not to play well with windows and are a pain to use. I haven't used the PS Eye but I'm using the ps2's eye toy and it's not exactly a great experience.
